Future Center for the Arts Events ~
The Foundation will begin speaking engagements to present the Plaza opportunities to organizations, groups, and patrons this spring. Look for a summer party to celebrate the arts, the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival the first week-end in August, possibly a circus in August, and in September our Symphonic Safari, introduction to students of music and instruments in collaboration with Columbia Symphony.

The arts are happening all around us, with Gresham Little Theater offerings, Columbia Symphony, Gresham Pops Orchestra, Gresham Community Choir, the July Art Walk in Historic Downtown Gresham and Mt. Hood Repertory Theatre’s winter Reader’s Theater and the summer “Classics”, offering On Golden Pond this year – to mention a few.

Our Mission:
The Gresham/Mt. Hood Jazz Association (GMHJA), an Oregon non-profit, public benefit corporation, seeks to:

•	To promote the appreciation of jazz as a unique American art form;
•	To provide a continuing source of cultural awareness through education and regional participation within the Pacific Northwest;
•	To enhance visibility and the cultural image of the Gresham area;
•	To encourage arts, cultural opportunities, and education in the Gresham area.

What We Do:
The Association works on a number of events and activities held year-round to accomplish its mission:

•	The Mt. Hood Jazz Festival, our signature event, annually brings superior international, national, regional and local jazz musicians to Gresham in August. The outdoor festival main stage performances are augmented by smaller jazz venues and other artistic and cultural events.
•	The Mt. Hood Adventures in Jazz series brings jazz musicians from outside the region to play at local Portland music venues throughout the year
